Romans 6:23 -“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”

To secure a reservation in eternity, one must confess and repent of their sins. This means acknowledging and expressing remorse for the wrongdoings committed and making a sincere commitment to change one’s ways. It involves seeking forgiveness from a higher power or the individuals affected by those actions. It is a personal and spiritual process that focuses on genuine remorse and the intention to lead a virtuous life. Unlike physical tickets that can be obtained through wealth or good deeds, the reservation for eternity is based on inner transformation and the pursuit of righteousness.

Salvation and access to eternal life are believed to come through faith in Jesus Christ. This belief is based on the verse mentioned from the book of John, chapter 14, verse 6, where Jesus states, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Therefore, it is understood that Jesus is considered the means by which individuals can attain salvation and eternal life.

The importance of creating a checklist when preparing for international travel, which typically includes essential items like a passport, visa, airline tickets, and insurance. There is no physical checklist since the journey to eternity is a matter of personal faith. It refers to 1 John 1:9 from the Bible, which serves as a reminder that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

In today’s diverse society, individuals may hold misinformed beliefs or engage in unconventional practices incompatible with mainstream religious views, despite the importance of recognizing Jesus as one’s personal savior for salvation and eternal life in many Christian faiths.

One example of such practices is witchcraft, which encompasses a range of beliefs and rituals often associated with magic and supernatural powers. Some individuals may pursue these practices in the belief that it grants them access to eternal life or other desired outcomes. However, it’s crucial to note that witchcraft and its associated rituals vary greatly across cultures and can serve different purposes, not solely focused on the pursuit of eternal life.

Furthermore, the mention of human sacrifice in the context of pursuing eternal life is an extreme and alarming phenomenon that should be addressed with great concern. It’s essential to emphasize that human sacrifice is universally condemned and illegal in most societies due to its violation of basic human rights and ethical principles. The idea that engaging in such practices would lead to eternal life is not supported by mainstream religious teachings or ethical frameworks.

A concerning trend in some African nations, it’s crucial to avoid generalizations or stereotypes. Africa is a diverse continent with a multitude of cultures, religions, and belief systems. While there may be isolated instances of individuals engaging in unconventional practices, it is not representative of the entire African population or its religious traditions.

The Holy Bible warns against engaging in practices such as sorcery, fortune-telling, divination, and communicating with the dead, as they are regarded as detestable by the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

There is only one way through Jesus; denying this is impossible.

 

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Help us accept Him as our Savior, confess our sins, and walk in His truth. Protect us from misleading beliefs and practices. Guide us to live according to Your will. We pray for those who haven’t found Jesus, that they discover His grace. – In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
