Philippians -(3:20-21)-But our citizenship is in heaven
Author: Evangelist Daniel Sushanth
In the past, migrating to America and European countries was simpler with less paperwork and a welcoming attitude from governments towards immigrants. Now, billboards and ads promoting immigration are seen frequently during my daily commute to the office.
However, the current situation has changed, and there are now stringent migration procedures in place that demand individuals to achieve specific eligibility criteria. Consultancies can assist in assessing one’s eligibility and providing guidance throughout the immigration process, which demands satisfying age requirements and complying with specified regulations.
The introduction of a lottery system aims to manage the high demand for immigration applications in countries like the United States. Despite meeting the eligibility criteria, individuals may still experience delays and incur immigration process.
Many Indians aspire to migrate to countries like the United States, Canada, and France due to factors such as improved living standards, social security, retirement options, quality education, and access to free healthcare. To begin the migration process, individuals must assess their eligibility, fully understand the associated costs, and accomplish specific criteria.
Our time on Earth is like a temporary stay before something permanent. Just as people temporarily move to another country before getting full citizenship, our actions here shape our eternal life. It’s a reminder to live with a focus on what lasts beyond our temporary time on Earth.
Although the process of migrating to other countries can be complex, attaining citizenship in eternity is surprisingly elementary. The requirements for heavenly citizenship involve belief in Jesus Christ and accepting him as one’s Savior. Unlike earthly citizenship, there are no promotional campaigns or advertisements for this heavenly status; it is accessible to all who have faith in Christ.
It encourages individuals to promptly declare their faith in Jesus as a personal saviour for the assurance of eternal salvation, suggesting that delaying such a decision may risk missing the opportunity altogether.
Believers deepen their relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, church activities, and interacting with fellow believers. These practices help them grow in faith and understanding of biblical truths.
Living a life reflecting Christ’s love involves following his qualities, studying and applying his teachings, obeying his commandments, sharing the message of salvation, and serving those in need.
Water baptism is not only a step of obedience but also a public declaration of faith. It serves as a symbolic representation of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Through baptism, individuals publicly acknowledge Jesus as their savior and express their faith in Him.
According to the Bible, Jesus chose to be baptized by John the Baptist. This event is mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew, specifically Matthew 3:13-17.
Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, I confess my mistakes and accept Jesus as my Savior. Please forgive me, come into my heart, and guide my life. Thank you for your love and the gift of eternal life through Jesus. in Jesus Amen.
