Jesus – Commander in Chief

1 Corinthians 15:57 – “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Author: Evangelist Daniel Sushanth

This passage in 1 Corinthians 15:57 speaks of our freedom and victory over sin through Jesus. It emphasizes that God has shattered the gates of Satan and granted us access to our heavenly Father. It prompts us to consider moments when we have conquered our fears and overcome challenges.

Through Jesus Christ, we gain freedom from sin and restore our relationship with God. Jesus breaks down the barriers that separate us, granting us access to God’s presence and eternal life. Christ secures our victory over sin and opens the way to God for us.

Jesus conquers death and defeats Satan, freeing us from captivity. However, Satan resists our salvation and tries to trap us in darkness and worldly vices. Without Jesus, we lack the strength to overcome this powerful enemy and may be drawn deeper into his influence.

In facing Satan’s attacks, defend and counterattack using the Armor of God: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, and the shoes of the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:13-17). Resist surrendering control to the enemy. Jesus is our Commander in Chief. We can call on Him for help and overcome addictions like alcoholism, drug abuse, lust, and greed. Jesus brings victory to our lives. He is not only our saviour but also our friend and guide, always with us for help and support.

Trust in Jesus, overcome. Live for God, make a difference, help others. Pray for strength, trust in God. God is always with you, never give up.

May our lives be a pleasing offering to Jesus as we demonstrate love and truth to those around us. Let us actively make a positive impact in the world, sharing the message of victory and hope with those who are in desperate need.

Prayer – Our Heavenly Father, we acknowledge Jesus as our Commander in Chief in the army of faith. We thank you for the victory in Christ, breaking the chains of sin and granting us freedom. We pray for those facing spiritual battles, surround them and provide support. We intercede for those yet to receive salvation, break Satan’s grip, open their hearts to love and forgiveness. Draw them into your light, for freedom and victory in Christ. We trust in your unfailing love. – In Jesus name we pray –  Amen.

Inspiring – True Story

In the midst of the battle, a soldier named Private William McBride found himself isolated and under heavy enemy fire. His comrades had either fallen or moved on, leaving him alone and vulnerable. Despite the overwhelming odds, McBride courageously held his ground, returning fire and doing his best to defend the post. As the intensity of the battle raged on, the sound of gunfire and explosions caught the attention of nearby units. Recognizing the urgency, soldiers from McBride’s own battalion, as well as neighboring units, rallied together to provide support.

With reinforcements arriving, the combined forces launched a counterattack, pushing back the enemy and reclaiming the strategic post. Through their collective efforts, they successfully defended the position, turning the tide of the battle. Private William McBride’s story serves as a testament to the valor and camaraderie displayed by soldiers during World War I. In the face of adversity, the arrival of support from fellow units can make all the difference, enabling individuals to hold their ground and secure victory in the midst of intense battles.
