Rejecting Violence..!!

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. - Genesis 2:7

Author: Evangelist Sushanth Daniel

The act of creation described in Genesis 2:7 highlights how God formed man from dust and breathed life into him, thereby making him a living soul. It calls upon believers to value and protect the gift of life.

Life is described as a masterpiece created by God. The act of breathing life into humanity is seen as a reflection of the divine-human connection. It is compared to a mother nurturing life within her womb, emphasizing the responsibility to protect and cherish this divine creation.

The presence of violence in our world contradicts the holiness of life. It emphasizes that taking a life through murder or terrorism disrupts the divine order and undermines the sanctity bestowed upon us by God. The story of Cain and Abel is mentioned as a reminder of the consequences of violence, and Cain’s curse serves as a perpetual warning.

Violence tears apart the fabric of familial bonds and inflicts immeasurable sorrow upon parents who grieve the loss of their children and siblings who mourn the loss of their own kin. The devastating aftermath of violence manifests as broken families, leaving a profound sense of grief that reverberates through their lives.

Jesus Christ, as the ultimate embodiment of divine authority, showed the power to restore life and provide redemption. No earthly power or ideology can justify taking another’s life, as it distances individuals from God’s grace and leads to darkness.

Violence goes against God’s order and righteousness, leading to a purposeless and joyless existence. It emphasizes the role of Christians in promoting peace, extending compassion even to those who are astray, and working towards a peaceful world.

The need for individuals to serve as beacons of light and advocates of peace in a troubled world is highlighted. It emphasizes the importance of following the wisdom of Scripture, showing compassion and love to everyone, including those who have gone astray. The followers of Christ are to reject violence, promote understanding, and work towards a world of peace, transformed hearts, and preserved beauty for future generations.
