Hebrews 12:2 - looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
Author: Evangelist Sushanth Daniel
Hebrews 12:2 reminds us to look to Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith. Believers are urged to align with God’s plan and follow His guidance.
In cinema, characters follow the director’s instructions, playing their roles based on a script. Similarly, Jesus is the guiding director of our lives, with His teachings forming the script we should follow. Our alignment with His teachings determines the fulfillment of our life’s purpose.
In a ship journey, the captain guides the ship safely based on forecasts and maps. Likewise, Jesus is our Captain in life, guiding us towards eternal life. By embracing His teachings and trusting Him unwaveringly, we navigate through life’s challenges and find salvation.
In our spiritual journey, like activating roaming services in international travel, we must tune in to signals from the Holy Spirit. Through faith and reconnecting with Jesus, we receive divine guidance. Our unwavering connection to God, like a ship in contact with the main tower, grows and strengthens as we continue our journey.
The Titanic tragedy warns against human arrogance and self-reliance. Believing the ship was unsinkable led to a tragedy. Likewise, relying only on our wisdom can lead us astray. Seeking God’s wisdom and living by His commandments guide our spiritual journey under His providence.
According to Hebrews 12:2, Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He invites us to let Him be the Captain of our lives. Surrendering to His direction ensures a purposeful, secure, and fulfilling journey. When we allow Jesus to guide us, we are assured of reaching our destination – eternal communion with Him. This decision surpasses human wisdom, entrusting our future to the One who holds all things.
Yield to Jesus, the divine Director and Captain of our souls. His teachings shape our script, His guidance steers our course, and His love anchors us. Obedience to His teachings brings a life of significance and influence.
Will you let Jesus guide you today towards the eternal destination He has prepared?
Titanic Arrogance: Lessons from History and Facts
The Titanic owner’s arrogance is often linked to a quote falsely attributed to J. Bruce Ismay, chairman of White Star Line. The quote, “Not even God Himself could sink this ship,” showcases overconfidence and a belief in the Titanic’s invincibility despite the perils of the sea. It was promoted as a luxurious and advanced ship, with an overconfident belief in its safety features, especially its “unsinkable” design. This arrogance led to underestimating risks and neglecting necessary precautions. The Titanic’s collision with an iceberg on April 15, 1912, resulted in its sinking and the loss of over 1,500 lives. This tragedy highlights the consequences of human arrogance and emphasizes the significance of humility.
Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, Guide us through life. Shape our story. Lead us to salvation. Holy Spirit, help us hear Your voice. Guide our decisions with Your wisdom. – In Jesus’ name, Amen.
