The Truth Satan Cannot Hide

John 8:32 – “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Author: Evangelist Sushanth Daniel

Satan works tirelessly to hide the truth found in the Holy Bible. Yet just as one cannot hold the light, the truth of God’s Word is destined to shine through. Satan’s attempts to block the truth may be formidable, but God’s light cannot be put out.

Believers often face immense challenges because Satan’s primary target is our faith. Like a master strategist, he studies our weaknesses. He waits for the right moment to launch his attack. It is much like an enemy on a battlefield. In warfare, the adversary’s most devastating assaults often come from careful observation and premeditated plans. Similarly, Satan is a roaring lion. He seeks whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). He catches believers off-guard and shakes their faith.

When Satan strikes, the damage can feel overwhelming. His attacks are precise and destructive because he knows our vulnerabilities. But why do believers fall prey to these spiritual ambushes? The answer lies not in God’s inability to protect us, but in our own wrong choices. One of the clearest examples of this is found in the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32).

The Prodigal Son: A Story of Self-Destruction and Redemption

The younger son in this parable made a series of poor choices, driven by selfish desires. He demanded his inheritance, left his father’s house, and squandered his wealth on reckless living. But when famine struck, he found himself in dire need, tending pigs and longing for even their food. At his lowest point, he realized the truth: he had sinned against his father, and he longed to return home.

This story is not just an ancient parable, but a timeless truth. The younger son’s downfall began when he chose to leave the safety of his father’s house. We falter when we stray from God’s protection. Satan is quick to seize these moments of weakness, leading us down paths of destruction. He tells us we are trapped, that there is no way back. But this is a lie.

Like the prodigal son, we must come to our senses. The son realized that even his father’s servants lived better than he did in his rebellious state. So, he decided to return home, humbled and repentant, ready to ask for forgiveness.

The Father’s Embrace: God’s Readiness to Forgive

The beauty of the parable lies in the father’s response. When the son was still a long way off, his father saw him. He ran to him and embraced him. He celebrated his return. This mirrors our relationship with God. No matter how far we’ve wandered, God is ready to welcome us back with open arms. It doesn’t matter how deeply we’ve fallen, God is ready to welcome us back with open arms. He is waiting to restore us, to place the robe of righteousness on us, and to celebrate our return.

Satan wants to hide this truth. He wants us to believe that we are beyond saving. He wants us to think that our sin is too great. He wants us to feel that we must live in shame forever. But God’s grace is greater than any sin. Jesus made this clear 2,000 years ago, and His message still holds true today.

A Call to Repentance: Take the Step Today

The story of the prodigal son is not just about his mistakes. It’s about his decision to return. It is also about the father’s joy in receiving him. In the same way, Jesus is ready to rescue us from the bondages of sin. But we must take the first step—just as the son did. We must repent, confess our sins, and turn back to God.

If we refuse to acknowledge our sins and continue living in rebellion, not even Jesus can intervene. But if we recognize our wrongs, Jesus is eager to welcome us back into His grace. We need to humble ourselves like the prodigal son. We need to seek forgiveness.

Today is the day to make a choice. Will you stay in the state of bondage, or will you turn to the One who can set you free? Jesus is waiting, arms open wide. Repent, return, and let Him change the course of your life.

Prayer of Repentance: Our Heavenly Father, I come before You, confessing my sins and acknowledging that I have strayed from Your path. Like the prodigal son, I repent and ask for Your forgiveness. Thank You for Your mercy and for always welcoming me back with open arms.

Help me resist the enemy’s lies and guide me back to Your truth. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and restore me in Your grace. Trust in Your love and commit my life to walking in Your light. – In Jesus’ name, Amen.
