The Art of Expressing

Author: Evangelist Daniel Sushanth

Expressing gratitude is crucial when receiving Favors or help from others in the contemporary world.

During a difficult period of unemployment, my fellow members of the “YA” group from my church provided me with invaluable assistance and unwavering support. I expressed my gratitude to them for their prayers and encouragement throughout my struggles, as their love and concern will always hold a special place in my heart.

Experienced a situation in which someone I knew requested financial aid during a difficult time. Despite not having the funds, I allowed them to utilize my credit card, assuming they would reimburse me. Regrettably, they withdrew a substantial amount without my consent, displayed no acknowledgment or gratefulness for my assistance, and did not return the amount.

The situation forced me to pay a significant amount of interest to the bank. Despite the financial loss and bitter experience, I maintain my belief in helping others and making a positive impact on their lives.

Being ungrateful is common in society, hindering our ability to express gratitude for the help we receive. Some people can be selfish and unappreciative even after receiving help. However, it’s important to help others and make a positive impact, as Jesus taught us. Let’s leave judgment to God and remember that there are still genuinely needy people. We shouldn’t let ungrateful acts discourage us from doing good.

The story of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19: Ten lepers ask Jesus for mercy, he instructs them to go to the priests, and they are healed on the way.

Out of the ten lepers, only one, returned to give thanks to God for his healing. Jesus praised his faith and highlighted the importance of gratitude. I learned from Jesus to integrate humility, compassion, and gratitude. We should express gratitude when receiving assistance and acknowledge that God enabled us to receive help. As part of the body of Christ, we must always show appreciation towards others.

This act of gratitude strengthens relationships and bears witness to Christ. We must remember that our prayers were answered by God, who opened the door for us to receive help. “In the future, let’s remember to appreciate and witness Christ’s love.”

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, when I receive help from others, please remind me to express my appreciation and acknowledge that it was made possible by Your grace. Thank you for answering my prayers and opening doors for me to receive the help I need. May I always give You the praise and glory. – In Jesus’ name, Amen.
